Winning a Best in Show right out of the gate as a Special, Rotten (BIS BISS CH. Happy Hour Highmark Toasty SDHF) was ranked as the #3 Golden Retriever in 2006, highlighting that year with a Judges Award of Merit at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club dog show. Rotten repeated his appearance at Westminster on February 13, 2007, where the beautiful dog with the "Rotten" name earned the coveted honor of Best of Breed at The Garden .
Rotten, owned by Pamela and Jerry Oxenberg of Toasty Goldens, continues to make his mark in the Golden world through his kids, including one very special girl, BIS BISS CH. Toasty's Treasure Island, SDHF, who won highest honors at the GRCA National Specialty for 2008 by being awarded the trophy for Best of Breed. Rotten was not to be left out of the winner's circle, though, as he was awarded both a Judge's Award of Merit from within the Best of Breed class and the winning ribbon from the Stud Dog Class!
It was a priviledge to watch this father/daughter team in action at the 2008 National Specialty and to witmess the exciting year Rotten's daughter, Treasure, had in 2009, becoming the number one Golden Retriever Bitch in the history of the breed and breaking the record for the number of Best in Show wins by a Golden Retriever Bitch - ever. Her wins ultimately included back to back Best of Breed wins at Westminster, and back to back wins of the Golden Retriever Top Twenty Invitational competition in 2008 and 2009. .
With how Rotten has produced, he should be a nice compliment to our lovely Sweetie (CH. Malagold's Everlasting Love). Sweetie is everything that we could ask for - beautiful head with expressive eyes and dark pigment, proper shoulder and a firm and straight back, which allows her to move effortlessly around the show ring or the across the field. Sweetie carries a beautiful full and proper coat, light medium golden in color and of just the appropriate length and texture.
This is a formidable pedigree - fire and beauty - that brings the past to the present, with the promise of an amazing future!
